Local university adds graduate certificate in artificial intelligence

A local university now offers a certificate in artificial intelligence at their business school. The University of Cincinnati’s Carl H. Lindner College of Business is now accepting applications for its new Artificial Intelligence in Business certificate. The head of Lindner’s operations, business analytics, and information systems department described the reasons behind the new program. “AI is becoming a big part of business, and a lot of people want to upskill on AI quickly and learn how to apply AI to business,” says professor Sachin Modi, Ph.D. “The intent of the certificate is to equip students with the correct tools and techniques to achieve this.”The program is designed to be completed in two or three semesters, and can be done alongside a master of science in business analytics or a master of science in information systems. The certificate has eight required hours and four elective hours. The university is focusing on business opportunities in data science, business analysts, financial services, and more.As it’s designed for those with little to no knowledge of AI, experience with the Python programming software is encouraged but not required. Those interested can apply for the fall 2024 semester by July 31. The spring 2025 semester has a priority application deadline of Oct. 15, and a final deadline of Dec. 1.
